Introduction by the editor - Newsletter August 2015

Dear friends of the UIA,

The new UIA newsletter will focus on specific headlines which you will see repeatedly,  but each time from a different perspective.

This time the international perspective begins with Amal Ganguli’s report on a symposium in India about land purchases.

We then introduce the activities of our Commissions, here Ángel Freire talks about the Young Lawyer’s Group and Stefano Dindo’s co-initiative about food law.

Next is Jackie Scott on the important subject of the defence of defence and the current activities on behalf of UIA.

In addition András Szecskay and Olivier van Hardenbroek make their statement about problems in Serbia and the Netherlands for activities of lawyers in general and in particular.

Last but not least our newsletter presents the preparation of the forthcoming UIA congress in Valencia, and the publication of a recent book on the protection of personal data.

As usual, feel free to provide input of any kind, also ideas for articles are always welcome.
