Introduction by the editor - Newsletter March 2015

Dear friends of the UIA,
Please find enclosed our latest version of our newsletter.
This time we present I think a rather interesting kaleidoscope of aspects of our profession:
The current issue deals with specific aspects of the profession, starting from our activity regarding the independence of the individual lawyer to those recent developments as corporations now running law firms, as it is the case in Australia already for some years, a development which consequences can probably not be underestimated for the profession.
We deal with Bar issues, reflecting the activities of the International Bar Leaders Senate, but probably even more interesting, taking a view on the situation of our colleagues in Tunisia, an example that shows that even within the proximity of the UIA Centre (Paris) it is not always easy to practice the profession.
As usual we reflect the activities of our Defense of Defense team, citing the examples where we have tried to intervene to the benefit of the individual lawyer.
In addition, we have two interesting subjects from the side of our commissions for the management of law firms and the hot topic of “family wealth”.
The last issue is an internal topic, namely the organization of a National Committee, thanks to our Director for the National Representatives, Stefano Dindo.
As usual, feel free to give any comments or remarks on the articles.
Best regards
Dr. Marcus Schriefers
