Antonio M. Prida: Bridging Conflicts Through Mediation and International Law

Antonio M. Prida is the founding partner of the Mexico City office of Curtis LLP. He is a distinguished legal professional whose career encompasses a broad spectrum of Mexican and international legal matters. His expertise spans corporate, commercial, finance, securities, labor law, asset structuring for high-net-worth individuals, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

A recognized authority in alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Prida has an active mediation practice addressing commercial, civil, family, and social disputes, including inheritance issues. Notably, he chaired the mediation panel that resolved a prolonged conflict between Mexican unions and workers' associations related to Mexicana de Aviación, the national airline that filed for bankruptcy in 2010. His leadership in this mediation led to an agreement signed before the Minister of Labor. Currently, he serves as President of the Mexican Institute of Mediation and as Vice President of the Arbitration & ADR Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Mexico.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Prida has made significant contributions to academia and public service. In 2008, he was appointed Minister in Europe by ProMéxico, the government institution dedicated to enhancing Mexico's international economic presence. As Regional Director for Europe, he was instrumental in establishing offices in Brussels, The Hague, London, Madrid, Milan, and Paris. His academic roles include teaching Public International Law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho, Securities Law at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and courses on Doing Business in Mexico at Western State University of California. Currently, he teaches Mediation at the Master Degree on Procedural Law at Escuela Libre de Derecho. He has also been a speaker on legal and financial topics across Mexico, the U.S., and Europe, and has authored over 200 articles in various journals and newspapers.

Mr. Prida's professional affiliations are extensive. He has been a board member of the Mexican Bar Association, Vice President of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados, and a member of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA), where he actually serves as member of the Presidential Committee. His dedication to pro bono work is evident through his roles as Secretary of the Board for both Unión de Empresarios para la Tecnología en la Educación, A.C., which provides technology to public schools, and Mexicanos Primero, A.C., an organization committed to promoting quality education in Mexico.

He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
