Access to an independent lawyer is a requirement for the adequate protection of fundamental freedoms and human rights. Bars and professional lawyers’ associations must be the custodians both of the independence of lawyers as well as that of the association itself.
How has the legal profession organised itself to meet these obligations.
Please provide your views on the state of the legal profession in your country by responding to the questionnaire prepared by UIA-IROL and contribute to this dialogue on the challenges and issues that it faces at the national, regional and international levels.
To respond to the survey, please click here.
We also invite you to share this questionnaire with all your colleagues to ensure widespread participation by as many lawyers as possible in each country.
The results of this survey will help inform the UIA-IROL as to the global condition of the legal profession and help guide its initiatives and actions in support of colleagues and their bar associations.
