Ludovic Trarieux Human Rights International Prize Ceremony

The moving Ludovic Trarieux Award Ceremony took place on Friday 31 October at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Florence on the occasion of UIA's 58th Congress. Leading this year the representatives of the Jury Member Organizations, Stephen L. Dreyfuss - UIA President - acted as Master of ceremonies and welcomed the audience. 

The Prize winner, Mahienour El-Massry, has been introduced by the President of the Jury - M. Bertrand Favreau - who paid tribute to her courage and commitment to the defense of political prisonners and refugees rights' as well as to her fight for independant justice in Egypt.

The young Egyptian Lawyer, recently released from jail, received a standing ovation after her moving and combative speech.
