IT and Contracts – What the Business Lawyer Needs to Know
“You need to be a techie to deal with software in contracts”: wrong. Ultimately, software contracts must apply the same legal principles as other contracts, and every lawyer who has a full-service approach to legal services in this field should at least have a basic knowledge of the dos and don’ts. This working session will primarily focus on strategic considerations for sourcing software and for M&A transactions, as well as clauses relating to warranties and liability limits. The audience will get an overview of the far-reaching changes of software contract law in recent years, with particular focus on African countries and OHADA.
