The challenges of settling international cultural heritage disputes
The art market, as an international sector where art is frequently an investment, is directly confronted with the challenges of dispute resolution, of which there are many. This workshop will explore, through concrete examples and case studies, the different national approaches and practices in dispute resolution. It will look at the different methods of dispute resolution and international legal instruments, as well as the role of institutions such as UNESCO, WIPO and the Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA) in the management of cultural disputes, in particular those relating to the protection and restitution of cultural heritage.
