
Call for candidacies for the election of the UIA Vice-President
At its meeting before the opening of the Florence congress on October 29, 2014, the General Assembly will elect the UIA Vice-President.
According to the UIA Statutes, this election must be preceded by a call for candidacies. This letter is therefore a call for candidacies for the position of UIA Vice-President.
According to Article 23.3 of the statutes and Article 6 of the internal regulations, the applications must come from members who are up to date with the payment of their membership fees, and must be addressed to President Stephen L. DREYFUSS by registered mail, dispatched to the UIA, 25 rue du Jour, 75001 Paris, no later than 6 months before the date of the next General Assembly which will take place on October 29, 2014. As a consequence, the registered letter must be sent no later than April 29, 2014, and must be received by the UIA within a week of the date of mailing that is, no later than May 6, 2014.
The candidacy submissions are to be accompanied by the following documents:
- a letter of presentation and intention from the candidate;
- his/her curriculum vitae;
- an official letter certifying that the candidate is authorised to practice as a lawyer.
The Executive Committee will verify the validity of the candidacies received, and will submit all valid candidacies to the Governing Board for an indicative vote, then to the General Assembly on October 29, 2014 for the election.
Please note that, according to the statutes, the only members who may vote are those who are current in the payment of their dues three months before the General Assembly meeting.
