Part II. The Human Rights Due Diligence Process - Practical Guidance for Lawyers

Expected Learning Outcomes:
• Overview of business sector distinctions for human rights due diligence – ranging from agriculture and mining to finance, tourism, and high technology
• Understanding of:
- carrying out an assessment - company, outside lawyers, or third party - pros and cons
- advising on prioritization of human rights impacts
- counselling on prevention activities
- advising on remedies
- working with the client: from executives to procurement personnel
- rights holder engagement
• The relationship of beneficial ownership requirements to human rights due diligence
