Participate in the Memorial de Caen’s International Human Rights Competition for Lawyers!

For the last 26 years, the Mémorial de Caen provides a forum for lawyers from around the world to denounce human rights violations and raise awareness for little-known causes.

The UIA, in partnership with the Memorial de Caen, invites all lawyers to speak out about their particular causes at the International Human Rights Competition for Lawyers and join voices with the more than 250 other lawyers who have previously participated in this event.

The following three prizes will be awarded to the most well-defended causes:

Mémorial and City of Caen Award: € 8,000

Caen Bar Association Award: € 4,000

Prize awarded by the audience: € 4.000

In addition, the UIA is offering a free one-year membership to the ten lawyers who are selected as finalists. The competition winner will also receive free registration and accommodation for the 2016 UIA Congress, to be held in Budapest, Hungary from October 28 to November 1. Other finalists will enjoy free registration to a UIA 2016 seminar.

Deadline for submission of speeches: Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Final Competition: January 31, 2016 at Caen, France.
