Best Wishes 2026 from UIA President, Fernando Hernández Gómez
Dear colleagues and friends of the UIA:
Another year is coming to an end; a time that invites us to reflect, which is why I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to each and every one of you for what you do for our association, and to send you my best wishes for the festive season. I hope these moments are filled with peace, warmth and unity. Beyond our personal beliefs or traditions, I wish for these days to be filled with the joy and fond memories that only time spent with loved ones can bring. I am also grateful for the invaluable support of the entire UIA staff team; your work is very valuable.
As we look back on this past year, I sincerely appreciate the friendship and camaraderie of all of you, values that define the essence of our organisation.
These are also times of hope and looking ahead. The future is the only thing we can change; we can always use our actions and our attitude to improve our environment and the one of people around us. I invite you to welcome 2026 with optimism and joy, confident that we can achieve our goals.
Aware that the Rule of Law is facing increasing attacks around the world, even in regions where its strength seemed unshakeable, today more than ever our actions as members of the UIA and the global legal profession are and will be decisive. Let us renew our commitment to work together to ensure that justice and legality remain strong and invulnerable pillars of our society; to guarantee access to justice and reduce inequality, thereby strengthening the Rule of Law throughout the world. Let us bear in mind that all our actions and omissions have an impact in this regard.
I am confident that the coming year will bring us fresh opportunities, as well as the energy and health necessary to overcome any challenge, building on what we have achieved so that the next cycle will be even more productive and satisfying for all.
Thank you for being an invaluable part of the UIA. Here's to a wonderful holiday season, and to the exciting chapter we are about to write together.
With my kindest regards,
Fernando Hernández Gómez
