#UIAMediation
The Singapore Convention, a first light of the international dawn of mediation?
A new tool for the enforcement of international mediation settlement agreements, alongside the already existing enforcement mechanisms - Stakes, challenges and limitations

Seminar presented by the UIA in cooperation with the Tunisian National Bar Association (Ordre National des Avocats de Tunisie), with the support of the ICC

The United Nations Convention on Mediation-related International Settlement Agreements (Singapore Mediation Convention) was a major international achievement in the field of out-of-court settlement of disputes, continuing to pave the way from an imposed to an increasingly negotiated international legal framework, with the stated objectives of facilitating international trade, promoting mediation as an effective alternative dispute resolution mechanism for commercial disputes, and providing security and stability to the international mediation regime.

For the first time in the world an international seminar will be entirely dedicated to the analysis of this Convention, its modus operandi, its requirements, its limits, its articulation with national and regional regulations and with other international Conventions regulating alternative dispute resolution, and particularly mediation, as well as to answer the question of whether this Convention will be the first light of the international dawn of mediation.

This seminar will be held in Tunis, Tunisia, the site of the advent of the Arab Spring, on April 10 and 11, 2020, under a beautiful spring sunshine.

The registration programme will be available soon.
