Operational Structure

The operational structure is based on National Commissions and Representatives.

Commissions

The UIA has more than 40 commissions and working groups divided into two departments: General Practice and Human Rights, on the one hand, and Business Law on the other. Each commission and working group is specialised in a particular area of law and studies the different legal systems worldwide. To see the structure and list of all the Commissions, please refer to the Commissions section.

National Representatives

In most of the countries where the UIA has members, geographical representation of the association is carried out by a National Representative. National Representatives assume the responsibility of developing the UIA's presence at a national level and connecting their countries' members with the Direction of the association.

This structure is reinforced by the presence of Regional Secretaries, in charge of maintaining a permanent link between the UIA and the various linguistic and geographical regions of the world.
