The profession of lawyer in Burkina Faso is regulated by law n° 016-2000/AN of 23 May 2000 on the regulation of the profession of lawyer, and the decree 2000-426/PRES/PM/MJ of 13 September 2000 on the organization of the profession of lawyer in Burkina Faso. The profession is also governed by an internal regulation.

Spanish judicial taxes: UIA upholds CGAE’s actions and demands

 

In a letter addressed to Mr. Carlos Carnicer Diez, President of the Consejo General de la Abogacía Española (CGAE) on 12 December, the UIA expressed its deep concern about the contents of the provisions of the 10/2012 Act governing taxes pertaining to the Justice Administration and the National Institute of Toxicology and Medico-Legal Sciences, as well as to the subsequent changes in the Act and the 13/2013 Royal Act Decree.

Training Program for the Kurdish Bar Association in Iraq

Since July 2012, the UIA has been providing a training programme for the leaders of the Kurdistan Bar Association (KBA). The courses are presented in the city of Erbil, in north-eastern Iraq. 

The subjects of the programme are the role and responsibilities of professional associations, code of Ethics, law firm management and legal training. The next session will take place on November 11, 2012
