Innovation, Health and the Right to Know: The Law of Food, Fiber and Toxins.
Questions about the safety of food supply are fundamental.
Innovation, reflected in genetically modified foods, is a moral issue for the European Union, and a subject of intense interest. Questions arise about food labeling amongst international trading partners.
This programme will consider the supposed health benefits and risks of GMO innovations, including how GMOs may impact, from an epigenetics perspective, which genes are turned on in future generations. We will also consider how risks are managed and insured, including from a torts perspective.
